It is rumored he flew for Howard Huges. The other branch I'm researching is the CHARTERIS family from County York in England. William, married to Eliza Corrie Charteris was a surgeon in Brighome, England. His son, William, came to USA to marry his bride, Grace WRIGHTSON because she was the maid of the house.
