Hello and welcome to our Gouker (Also spelled Gouger, Gaugar, Gaucher, Gaucker, Gauker, etc.) family home page! We started this research back in October, 1999 and since then we have obtained quite a bit of information. We also are fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to meet some "new Gouker's". Each and every one of them make us proud to say we are related. We're very grateful that we have the internet to allow us to share our information with everyone. We have started a Gouker family website on MyFamily.com for anyone that is interested, drop us an email and well send you a password so you can visit it.
In viewing the family tree you'll notice the name spelled 2 different ways...Gouger and Gouker. As it's been documented several different ways we decided to take the 2 most commonly documented spellings and use that. To make it easier for viewing we decided the cutoff point for the spelling Gouger to be John Edward, his siblings and parents on back. John Edward's children on down are spelled Gouker. John's tombstone and obit have him listed as Gouker but older church documents have him and his siblings listed as Gouger. That was the factor used in deciding the cut off point for the spelling of Gouger.
We plan on updating the reports and tree here as we receive additional information, so be sure to check back! Happy hunting to everyone and if you can help fill in any of the blanks we would appreciate hearing from you. Have a fantastic day!
