|I am currently researching TORGERSON and PAUFVE. Gustavus Maurice Torgerson, Jr. (b. 1847) and his wife Anna Marie Paufve (b. 1851) immigrated from Stockholm to somewhere in the deep South in the late 1800's. An architect, he reportedly worked on the World's Industrial & Cotton Expo in New Orleans (1885), and the Columbian Exposition in Chicago (1893). His son Edwin Dial Torgerson (b. 1892, Oxford or Meridian Mississippi) married Leila Jordan Smith (b. 1892, Birmingham Alabama). They were both writers who moved to Los Angeles in the 1930's. |
Beyond that we're stuck! Have the SMITH side well documented and traced back to the 1700's, but totally at a dead end with TORGERSON and PAUFVE.
