Marion Jack Rowe took Sissy Johnson from Arkansas in a hurry and they married at Braggs, Oklahoma.Jack's son, Arlie Rowe, said that he thought that she might have been another mans wife, and that they ran away together. He said that Grandpa Jack ran a sawmill in Indian Territory and later in Oklahoma. He also ran a store in Hanes, Oklahoma located at the junction to Porter off Highway 69.After WW1, he loaded the sawmill on a flatcar and took it down to the white pines to cut soft wood near McAlexter, Oklahoma. No one would buy the soft wood so Grandpa Jack lost everything he had.He moved to Tullahassee and became a constable or judge.Grandpa Jack, Frank, Jay, Huylsey;, Okie and Arlie Rowe made whiskey on the island called "The Jack Rowe Ford".It was located on the Arkansas River near VannsLake. (Information source was Jerry Lee Row--son of Arlie Rowe).
