My Dad (Dr. I. Frank Tullis, Jr.) and I have been actively researching our ancestors for several years now.Actually, he started the research about 40 years ago, and it's just been in the past few years that I've joined him and we've moved into the "computer age".
Our earliest known Tullis ancestor is Moses Tullis, who was born about 1730, probably in New Jersey, although possibly in Scotland or Wales. Our paternal line then includes two more Moses Tullises, James Monroe Tullis, Newell Gibson Tullis, Isaac Frank Tullis, and then my Dad, Isaac Frank Tullis, Jr.They gradually migrated from New Jersey, to South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and finally to Tennessee.
Other surnames among my ancestors, which we are also researching, include Stuart, Griffin, Shackleford, Marmelstein, Murphy, Samuels, Mahan, Bullock, and Stanley. Most of these have been in various parts of the South.
I would be happy to share information with anyone else. Please contact me via e-mail at the address below.
