9. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/miller/shephist.htm, Louis Du Bois married Catherine Blanghan at the French Protestant Church at Mannheim, in the Pfalz, German Palatinate. This was the German sanctuary where the Huguenots from France and the other persecuted Protestants of Europe went to escape their murder by the Spanish king and his sympathizers. The Du Bois were "Walloons". The Walloon country was on the northeastern border of France which today is included in the French department du Nord, and the southwestern provinces of Belgium. Harrison, and received for his services a land warrant. In 1850 he left St. Louis County and bought land and settled in what is now Moniteau COunty, where he died in 1857 at the ripe old age of eighty-seight years. Minor Farris owned an excellent farm in St. Louiis COunty, which he afterward sold, and moved to Moniteau COunty in 1855, where he bought 240 acres of land; he is now (1889) living, aged eight-nine years. Our subject, G. 347. Cole County, Missouri Obituaries, 1871-99.Created in 1820 as one of the earliest divisions in the territory, Cole County, Missouri is located in central Missouri where the Missouri and Osage Rivers converge. This database is a collection of obituaries taken from the Daily Tribune, between 1871 and 1899. In addition to providing the decedent's name and date of death, it reveals the person's age or date of birth. This newspaper was published in the county seat of Jefferson City, and as with many rural newspapers, includes the names of people who lived in surrounding counties, making this a valuable source of information regarding Missouri residents. It contains nearly 4700 names. For those seeking Missouri ancestors, this can be a helpful collection.

In those "notes", James Wm Van Cleave gives his own list, and his source(s), of the ch of Aaron & Rachel as follows:Page 2: "Aaron, the progenitor, so far as we know of all the Van Cleaves, married in Monmouth [Co], New Jersey, [moved to NC] where he raised a family of seven boys and one girl. At the time of the Revolutionary War, Aaron's seven sons were all old enough to be in the army. The family of old Aaron was :(1) Aaron, the first son, not known who he married [Rachel Brent].(2) Benjamin, the second son, born Nov. 22, 1841, married Ruth Munson.(3) John, third son, married Mary Sheppard [Shepherd].(4) Billy, married Abby [Abigail Frost], a Tory in the days of the Revolution.(5) Ralph, married Liddy [Lydia] Combs.(6) Samuel, married and moved to Virginia.(7) Thisgen, is unknown, moved to Ohio.(8) Jane, daughter, married Squire Boone, [Jr], children unknown.""Aaron Sr. lived in New Jersey [& NC], where he raised his family. When the War of the Revolution began Aaron's seven sons all went into the army. They were stout, tall and hardy. We do not know how long the sons remained in the army, some probably until it closed. It is said by [Uncle] Jonathan Van Cleave that all the sons of old Aaron were in the Army except Billy. His wife was a Tory, and would not let him go. It seems that all the sons married in New Jersey [NC]. It is thought that Aaron Sr. died in Monmouth [Co], New Jersey [Rowan Co, NC], but at what time is not known [1780]. His sons went west. One went to Ohio, where his history is lost. Samuel went to Virginia to live and but little is known of him. It is thought that his descendents were heard from later. It came about this way. 531. Kentucky Marriages to 1850, Dodd, Jordan. Kentucky Marriages to 1850. [database online] Provo, UT: Ancestry.com, 1997. Electronic transcription of marriage records held by the individual counties in Kentucky. This database of Kentucky marriages to 1850 contains over 145,000 names. Each entry includes groom, bride, marriage date, county, and state. Every name is indexed so you can search for one name, or two names that are linked. If no marriage date was given, the date listed is the date when the license was issued. Rarely, a marriage is listed twice but in two different counties. This most often happens when a couple obtained a license in one county, but were actually married in another. Most early American marriages were recorded by the county (except in the northeastern states) and this collection provides the county for virtually every marriage. There are many types of marriage records. Some of these include consent affidavits, marriage banns (this was a religious custom), marriage bonds, marriage licenses, and marriage certificates. The information provided on these records will vary according to purpose and the year in which they were created, but almost all of them will at least list the names of the bride and groom and the date and place of the event. Occasionally the names of the couple's parents, ages of bride and groom, birthplaces of bride and groom, signature of the issuing clerk, and other details will also be found among marriage records.
