The Death of Percy Henry Norton aged 76 of 61 Woodstock St, Guildford occured at a private hospital on July 18, 1950.The late gentleman was born
at Paget Hall which was on the corner of Clarence and Horton St
Port Macquarie. And after shearing out west for some time,came to Woodstock St.Guildford about 35 years ago.He conducted a dairy farm and later commenced a flower garden.Mr Norton had been in poor health for the last 3 years.His great grandfather, Lieut Morton (somehow the name changed down through the years) came to Australia in charge of convicts in the settler days, and brought with him the sword used by Sir Walter Drake at The Battle of the Armarda, and it is now at The Historical Society, Port Macquarie.Internment took Place in the Church of England portion of Rookwood Cemetery on Thursday 26th May 1960.The Rector, Rev. E. Gibbes officating at the graveside.
Survived by his wife Alice, & sons Henry,John,& Daughter,Eileen.
