Surnames being researched include Weddle, Rensberry, Woodward, Brannen, Scotton, Buckta, Peterson, Essner, and Gray, plus a lot of others. Johan Michael Weddle came from Germany and settled in Virginia, and was associated with the Church of the Brethren. My grandfather O. Herschel Rensberry was a Rensberry through a name change only; he was biologically a Woodward but was taken in by the Rensberrys, Free Methodists, when he was a foster child in MI. Archibald Brannen lived in Nova Scotia and my ancestor, Henry Brannen, ended up in Lynn, Massachusetts. John Scotton was a shoemaker from England who settled in Wells Co, Indiana. Andreas Buchda came from Bavaria, Germany, settled in Wisconsin, and had at least 7 children, most all of whom were fostered out after his wife Malena (Kilen) died. The Petersons (both John Emil and his wife Adelina Sofia) were from Sweden, settled in Chicago, moved to Spokane and then Ellisforde, WA. Theobold Essner came from Germany and his son Oswald ended up in Michigan. Enoch Gray started in Maine and ended up in Wisconsin. Any help on any of these lines would be greatly appreciated. I've hit brick walls on several of them.
