|John Welsh b. November 14, 1834 in Wales married Sarah George, b. June 3, 1837 in Wales, in about 1854 in Allegheny/Beaver Counties of Pennsylvania. I believe they came from Wales during the potato famine, but, I don't know when or with whom.|
They settled down in Beaver County in western, PA, and had twelve children, Joseph, John Henry, Benjamin, Walter, Richard, Sarah, Harriet, Thomas, Elizabeth, Albert, William & John. I have dates for these children and a few of their spouses.
Albert was my gg-grandfather and he married a Mary Ann McDonald of Allegheny, PA in about 1896, she was the daughter of Henry Thomas McDonald and Margaret Poff, Margaret's parents were Frank Poff of Butler, PA and Barbera Sluff, which this spelling may be wrong, born in Switzerland.
So, Mary & Albert had five children, May, Lloyd, Linda, Raymond & Louise.Lloyd is my g-grandfather. He married Laura Lillian Needham, born in Darlington, PA. Her father was John Needham & her mother was Elizabeth, I don't know her last name, of Lisbon, OH.
I also have my grandfather, Willard Albert Welsh, the son of Lloyd & Laura Welsh, descendents and dates. I heard that the family owned alot of land in Beaver Falls, and may have had a fruit orchard there. I know my family has a Civil War Musket that was used by one of the sons of John & Sarah in the Civil War. It gets passed on to the first grandson of the next generation, bearing the name Welsh.
Other names I am researching are: Eli Zook Jones of Cumberland County, Newburg, PA, Annie Catherine Richardson, Cumberland County, Newburg, PA, Runyon, (Greencastle, PA) Dietrich (St. Thomas, PA), Spears (Penns Grove, NJ) Raine (Pennsgrove, NJ)Magill (NJ?).
I am researching the family of David Joseph Hughes II, my husband, names are: Hughes(Welsh, Wilkes-Barre), Stracones(Lithuanian), Bigler (Franklin/Adams County, PA) Barnett/Ramsey (Huntington, PA & surrounding counties), Hess(Huntington, PA & surrounding counties, Oliver (Franklin/Adams County.
There are so many more, but, if you need information and I have it, I will be happy to share it with you, or if you would like to help me by giving me a new look into my past, I would sincerely appreciate it.
