STATE OF MINNESOTA
The followinginformation/death records were gather on July 31, 2001 by me, Steven L. Goettelat the Faribault County, Minnesota court house in Blue Earth. It was late in the court house day and I wassearching as much for dates to reference for obituary location as forcause. In some cases I only happenedonto the dates of death but did not look up the full listing, I still list herefor name and date verification. Faribault County began recording deaths in 1870 and books available forreview end in 1932.
Book A, page 1, #4
Anna MEINKE died July 6, 1870, female, res....Minnesota,57 yr.s old [??], b; Germany, cause of death- “notknown”, [under parents] Adolph Meinke, b; Germany. Registered 12 - 15- 1870. [ Elisabeth Anna Timm Meinke is the mother of of Julia Gartzke, Ernestine Oelke and Gustine Willmert. Her age at death was actually 75yo.....possibly a number transposition in recording. The name Adolph Meinke is curious. He could either be her father with ‘Meinke’ recorded instead ofTimm, or her husband. This informationis provided by some survivor , generally to a doctor who signs the record. The daughters’ death records list ChristianMeinke and Elisabeth Timm as parents. As Elisabeth is referred to as Anna secularly, it could be thatChristian’s middle and secular name was Adolph.]
