There are seven sons listed but no record of any daughters.The first three sons married in Darlington District, South Carolina and had families when they moved to Georgia in 1832.They purchased land from Gilas Carter January 1, 1831, about two miles south of Nashville in Lowndes County.Later the Connell land was taken into Berrien County, Georgia when it was created.James E., Jr. and Sarah Connell moved their church letter from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Darlington District, South Carolina to Union Church in Lowndes County.Their letter was dated September 13, 1834.Later they became charter members in the Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien County, Georgia when it was organized in June 1835, eight miles south of Nashville.James E. Connell, Jr. is listed in the 1840 and 1850 Lowndes County census.
Both James and Sarah are buried in the Connell Cemetary south of Nashville, Georgia.They are in vaults above the ground.Their graves are marked.They had seven sons and 74 grandchildren.
