Bragg Homemaker Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Home METTER -Bertha Glisson Bragg, 88, of Pulaski, died Friday night at Candler County Hospital after a long illness. The Bulloch County native had lived most of her life in Candler County. She was a homemaker and for over 50 years a member of Pulaski Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Inman Bragg, Pulaski; three daughters, Louise Bell, Barrington, and Dessaree Ammons and Annette Lynn, both of Savannah; one brother, Virgil Glisson, Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grand children and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 4 P.M. Sunday at the Hooks Chapel of Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel, with Rev. Inman Gerrald officiating. Burial will be in emit Grove Cemetery near Denmark. |

Survivors include eight daughters: Mrs. D. C. Schreiner of Charleston, SC; Mrs. Joseph D. Griner and Mrs. L. L. Hiers both of Savannah; Mrs. Frank Starling of Augusta; Mrs. E. D. Carrasco of Germany; Mrs. Roy Gerrald, Mrs. Jack Lanier, and Mrs. John C. Howard all of Statesboro; two sons: Jack D. Fordham of Lafayette, Ind.; and Paul E. Fordham of Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. Jim Conner of Savannah; 29 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Howard Cox officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be the grandsons. Smith-Tillman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. |

Notes for RUFUS CALVIN FORDHAM: [Ready03.FTW] RUFUS CALVIN FORDHAM February 24, 1893 - March 15, 1943 R. C. Fordham, age 50, well known and highly esteemed farmer of this community, died Tuesday evening at his home from a heart attack. Mr. Fordham was near the barn doing some farm work when one of the farm hands noticed he was ill.A call was made to Mrs. Fordham, who reached him only a few minutes before his death. The deceased was an unusual farmer.He always made farming pay, be the prices for commodities high or low.He was a loyal patron of the Brooklet High School, a noble citizen. Besides his widow, he is survived by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Fordham, Brooklet; three sons, R. L. Fordham, in the U. S. Armed Forces at Camp Robin, Macon; Jack Fordham and Paul Fordham, Brooklet; eight daughters, Miss Juanita Fordham and Mrs. Frank Starling, Savannah; Mrs. Joe Griner, Waycross; Misses Nila Rea Fordham, Montez Fordham, Luteria Fordham, Yvonne Fordham, and Geraldine Fordham, all of Brooklet; one whole brother, Dewey Fordham, Brooklet; one adopted brother, Hugh Dorsey Fordham, Savannah; three sisters, Mrs. Linton Wilson and Mrs. Luther Denmark, Savannah, and Mrs. Needhan O'Juinn, Stilson. Funeral services were held at Black Creek Church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Elder F. H. Sills officiated.Active pallbearers were Emit Alford, Linton Bland, Fred Gerrald, Wilson Meeks, Manzie Lewis, and A. L. Turner.Honorary pallbearers were A. K. Trapnell, Dr. C. E. Stapleton, L. H.
