David McQuown- Last name was spelled McQuown. Some have said it should be McEwen. Another source had his death place as Indiana Co., PA.
"From the PA Archives, May 17, 1775, Lancaster County(now Dauphin County) had three officers: Capt. Jacob Cook, 1st Lieutenant William Mayo, 2nd Lt. Robert McQuown with Ensign David McQuown, Officers of the 3rd Battalion, Lawrence County were: Capt. David McQuown, 1st Lt. Robert McQuown. On June 16, 1777, while at Church at Donegal, Lancaster County, an express arrived calling to muster the battalin and march to the Delaware. David McQuown's company then marched for the Delaware and were involved in the Battle of Brandywine.
In 1788, David moved with his wife Mary, and son Lawrence, to a grant of land of some 220 acres in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Here he erected a sawmill and was engaged in lumbering and farming until his death in 1825." (1)
