Notes for Daniel Schad: Daniel Schad came to America about 1848, with his father, possibly by sailboat. He was a bookkeeper. Per the History of Tuscola and Bay Counties, Mich., H.R. Page and Co., Chicago, 1883, page 143-145, Daniel was the Village Clerk of Unionville Village in 1883 Per a Chronology of Events for the past 25 years of articles appearing in the Unionville Crescent on April 1917;In 1893 it showed Daniel's brother George, married Cora Davis.In 1894 Esther Schad was born on June 5th.It showed Alma Schad was born 3/12/1897.It reported that Daniel Schad died on 7/04/1901 at the age of 45.On September 2, 1907 George Schad drowned at Saginaw.John Bond & Esther Schad were married 10/3/1914 and Bertha Schad married Frank Harris on 2/11/1915. The Tuscola County death record, Book 2, page 176 says Daniel died 7/4/1901, age 54y 8m 16d. married, born in Germany, father John Schad, mother Susan Best. The marriage record book 5, page70 shows son John Schad age 27, of Reese, MI., born in NY, merchant, parents Daniel Schad and Mary Marklie,to Florence Walz, 27, Reese, born in MI, parents John Walz and Emma Linederburgh on 9/12/1900 at Saginaw.
