|Following the death of both my parents some ten years ago now, I felt the need to explore the history and the people who had contributed to who I am today.|
I suppose really it was a way of dealing with my personal grief for two wonderful parents who had strived to give me all they could. It felt very comforting to be among people from the past rather than face the reality of what was happening to the cocoon I had always been nurtured inside.
As a result of my research I have uncovered over a thousand relations who were always there waiting to be discovered. I have become aquainted with a dear cousin once removed, who's name was familiar to me from conversations held years ago when I was a child. An amazing gentleman (in the true sense of the word!)who has memories and stories that I would never have known about without him. His brilliant memory has enlightened me about personalities and characters he can remember from the time before I was born. Such a wealth of information!
I have been researching for nearly six years now and each day I seem to uncover something new.Never a day goes by that I am not rewarded with more information about a fantastic family made up from snippets of the thousand people within it so far.
I am looking for any part of the Ismay family from Liverpool, The Southerns and Witters from Cheshire and Ismays who descend from Wigton in Cumberland.I would appreciate any information offered to me.
