Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This is my attempt to record what I've learned about my Family history.
Almost all of my Family migrated to and lived in the South. They were, for the most part, farmers in the rural areas ofNorth Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. They lived and died with very little written about their lives. It is difficult to find any birth or death records; if any ever existed. Many were probably married by "traveling preachers" and thus no marriage records. To complicate matters, many of these families were disrupted and dispersed by the Civil War. Many records were lost or burned. For the most part, the only clues to tracing my Family are found in Census Records. Even these records can be wrong or misread during transcription.
All this is to say that the data contained here is my "best guess". Genealogy is not perfect. Use what information you care to, but not all the data has been verified.
