Although I have seen several Wynn family pages on the internet, I have yet to discover how each branch of the Wynn family connects to my own.As resources related to my lineage become available to me, I will post them, or reference them on this web site.I want to thank the many that have already helped make my family tree more complete.
My mother's lineage is very well documented, as she comes from a long line of Bookstaver's, Comfort's, and Hudson's in the Orange County, NY area.I have found very little information (so far!) on my father's side.I have just recently discovered a family tree that documents the HURD branch of our tree.
Please be patient as I start to build this page.I still have information that has not been added to my tree, and I am still reviewing my tree for duplicate individuals.
Father's side surnames: WYNN, ALLEN, HURD, STOKESBERRY.Region: Marion Co., IA.
Mother's side surnames: COMFORT, BOOKSTAVER, HUDSON, BROWN.Region: Orange Co., NY
I first want to thank the Iowa GenWeb project:
This location has already led me to find several relatives.
Next, Thomas Bookstaver, from Seven Devils, NC:
Thomas and I share some of the same relatives. In fact, I am listed amongst the relatives on his Jacob BOOKSTAVER report.
I want to thank http://www.ancesty.com for providing another fantastic internet search facility.I found three tremendous GEDCOM's on this site that greatly expanded my family tree. Two were submitted by Frank Sloat and contained several SLOATs.(My great-great gradnfather, Theodore COMFORT, married Keturah Anna SLOAT).
The other GEDCOM file was submitted by an anonymous person, whose e-mail address has since been abandoned.I am indebted to this person for providing the first links beyond my great-grandparents on my father's side. For providing initial information on the HURD family, I wish to thank firstname.lastname@example.org.
After finding the Hurd family on Ancestry.com, I was able to find another resource:
This page documents some of my HIXON relations.(I have to trace back 7 generations to find HIXONs, but they're there!)
Before I forget, I also want to thank an offline resource.I have been provided with information from a tremendous book, published just before my birth, documenting the entire COMFORT line in the USA.The book was compiled by Cecelia C. and Rolan B. Botting, with my own great-grandfather as one of the contributing authors. It's title: Comfort Families of America.Published in Brookings, SD, 1971.It is my understanding that this book is out of print, but one of the copies is still available at a library in Orange Co., NY.
I do have one final link to report:
The sharp family is not directly connected to my lineage, but they list numerous Davis's, one of which (Eva Maxine Davis) married by uncle. That would make them cousins of my cousins.
Now for my reports:
