Adam Yager (b. September 30, 1708, d. January 23, 1794)Adam Yager (son of Nicholas Yager and Anna Marie Sieber) was born September 30, 1708 in Falkenstein, Duchy Of Neuberg, Palatinate, Germany, and died January 23, 1794 in Madison County, Virginia.He married Susanna Kobler on October 01, 1727 in Orange County, Virginia, daughter of Michael Kobler.

Hebron Lutheran Church records the last communion for Adam Sr. taking place Nov 1793.He was a trustee for the town of Woodstock, 1761.He is listed as a Foot Soldier in March 1756 and is also on the list of Minute Men from Culpepper County. (An 18th Century Perspective page 35)His will is found on page 24 of Madison County Willbook I dated 29 Sep 1793, proved 23 Jan 1794.Adam Yager Sr. was credited with patriotic service, which entitled him to the honor of having a National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution chapter named for him in Missouri.(The D.A.R. New Ancestor List, page 231)
The family Bible owned by Patricia Yager shows that Adam Sr. was born on 30 Sep 1708. Adam Sr. Yager's naturalization papers are dated Sep 1730. There are records of another Adam Yager/Yeaker of Woodstock, Shenandoah County, Virginia.This Adam Sr. also had a son named Adam Jr.It is very possible these were cousins of the Culpeper County Yager family.
Adam resided at Germanna on the Rapidan River from 1717 to 1725.He moved to Madison County, Virginia in 1725.Adam must have lived up to the meaning of his name, "hunter" (jager), as there is a record of him receiving a bounty for killing a wolf in Orange County, Virginia in 1736.
Will of Adam Yager. .. first my will and desire is that my two old Negroes, Tom and Lucy, be set at liberty .. (no one) claim any right to them .. all the estate that I have heretofore given to any of my children that they are or have been in possession I do not consider as my estate but theirs to whom it was given .. I give to my four sons, Michael, John, Adam and Godfrey, all my books to be equally divided between them .. I give and bequeath to my son, Godfrey Yager, all the land and plantation whereon I now live containing by patent one hundred acres together with sixty one acres I bout of Nelson .. I give to my daughter, Barbara (?) .. all the rest of my estate is to be sold but no person shall be allowed to bid but my four sons (named) and my two grandsons, Adam Clore and Benjamin Yager .. my grandchildren, the heirs of Nicholas Yager, deceast .. and the heirs of my other grandchildren, the heirs of Peter Clore begotten by my daughter, Barbara .. whereas my granddaughter, Elizabeth Wayman, daughter of Peter and Barbara Clore, is dead .. (her part) to her children .. in order that my executors not be distressed, I allow them eighteen months to pay my legacy .. appoint my four sons, Michael Yager, John Yager, Adam Yager and Godfrey Yager, to be executors .. this 9th day of September 1793 ..

At a court held .. 23rd January 1794 .. bond acknowledged and ordered to be recorded.
