Ted Zabel, the oldest of the 4 sons of Edward and Lily Zabel, married Minnie (Dobbs) on April 12, 1936 in Missoula, Montana. Ted and Minnie ultimately settled in Bremerton, Washington where they raised their three children ,Bonnie 4yrs., Pattie 7yrs. and Teddy 9yrs. old (see above photo)

Nine year old Teddy Zabel grew up in Bremerton, Washington. He attended college and seminary in California, married Edna (Janzen) on July 7, 1961 in Elbing, Kansas and ultimately settled in Salem, Oregon where they raised their two children Andy and Marsi (see photo above).

Photo of Michael and Susanna Zabel was taken in 1910 in Russia/Ukraine. They probably married in 1867 or 1868 in Konigsberg E. Prussia (Susanna's birth place). As a young married couple, they moved to Russia/Ukraine where they started farming near the village of Wjazowez (100 miles west of Kiev). They had 10 children. Three sons, Ferdinand, Edward (my Grandpa) and August came to U.S.A.,(my Grandpa, Edward, in 1906)settling in Goodrich, North Dakota.

Edward Married Lily on December 14,1910 near Goodrich, North Dakota. They farmed 620 acres until the 1932 drought sent them to Montana, and then on to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in 1935 where they farmed land just out of town.
