|My family genealogy is something that I was always going to "get around to."I will forever regret that I put it off for so many years. As many genealogists will tell you, our older living relatives are the best source of information, and putting it off only results in that type of regret. So, I was faced with the daunting task of starting only with the family Bible of Miss Linda Cole, my father's aunt. Then, too, there was a little bit of information a cousin had sent me, regarding my mama's family, giving me a starting point there.|
Sept. 5, 2001 - Many kudos to Kristi for all her planning and organizing of the reunion. From the comments I have heard, everyone had a great time. The location couldn't have been better and the weather cooperated beautifully. Thanks to all of you who traveled from near and far; it was great seeing y'all.Special thanks to the "grillmasters," Tim and Dave. And to Dougie for bringing his truck and keeping so much on ice for us, a big help.I will be occasionally adding to the site, so drop back by.Be sure and look at the pictures of the reunion and I hope if you have any comments or pictures you want to post to it, please feel free to do so.
May, 2005, I have added a few thousand names to my family tree (so far, I have not found any monkeys hanging by their tails on MY tree!).If you've ever done any genealogical research, you find out that there are things that you just KNOW are true, but you can't find the documentation on it.I have included some such things in my recorded information.I always leave with the caveat that there is always room for mistakes and corrections.
I think I have accomplished as much as could be expected, and possibly more. There's always a chance that sometime, some day, one of my grandchildren, or one of yours, or one of our great-great-great's will find this information in their parents' attic and their eyes will light up, and the torch will be carried on.I hope this happens.
