You can download your Web Edition files to your desktop PC to use with Family Tree Maker and other genealogy programs, you can publish your tree to your own personal Genealogy.com home page, and you can run powerful searches to help you add to your tree.

General Questions and Answers

How can I see everyone in my file?
Click the View menu and select Index of Individuals, or click its icon in the toolbar.

How many people can I add to my family?
Currently, the limit for Family Tree Maker Web Edition is 200 people. You can also download your tree to a desktop copy of Family Tree Maker, which can handle up to about 10,000 people! (Click the File menu and choose "Download to my PC.")

How can I save my file?
Click the File menu and choose Save. Your tree will be saved to your private "My Genealogy" page at Genealogy.com (if you don't have a "My Genealogy" page, one will be created for you).

How can I print my tree?
In your tree, click the File menu and choose "Print."

How can I download my file to Family Tree Maker on the desktop?
In your tree, click the File menu and choose "Download to my PC," then follow the instructions onscreen.

How can I publish my tree to a home page?
Click the Share menu and choose "Publish to my Home Page." If you do not have a personal home page, one will be created for you.

You can select to keep sensitive information on living individuals private, and it will be stripped from the published tree.
