Includes NotesNotes for Samuel Henry Aaron:
Samuel lived only 4 years after his marriage to Hannah leaving her a widow for over 50 years. They had one son Samuel. We do not know birth date or location or death/burial location.
We believe he and Hannah lived in Lower Saucon Township possibly around Shimersville perhaps with his brother-in law Peter Transue on Applebutter Road. There is ann ancient log home and barn currently lived in. Much of the area is or near Bethlehem Steel property today.( see 1874 Northampton County Atlas).
We believe he was a member of theLower Saucon Reformed Church on Easton Road which alternated Sundays with the Lutheran Church. While his name does not appear on chuch or burial records, his wife Hannah's does.
Samuel was a traveling merchant selling household goods and often traveling away overnight not returning until he was "sold out". We have an original letter( written in German) to Hannah explaining why he could not be home for the birth of Samuel in 1839.
Berwick, August 27, 1839
Dear Ha..
I am just taking my pen in hand in order to write you and to keep my promise, namely to inform you that I am well and hope you are the same. To be sure I had written to you that you should write to me too, but I am now going to the western country and do not know where you should write to me. I cannot yet definately say when I am coming home. If I should not be at home when the baby comes, I wish you all luck for the occasion, and that everything will go well, even though I am not present. For I cannot come home before I have pretty well sold out. Coming home without selling is poor business...brings in nothing. I know nothing else new to write.
Good luck and good health is the wish of your loving and ever faithful husband.
Samuel Aaron
Hearty greetings to all good friends
Solomon and Herman Fetter and I also wish ?? luck in his wedded state.

We do not know where he came from although there were Aarons' in Bucks County(currently being researched 2002), western Penna, or he could have come directly from Germany.
