I am a first generation Canadian. My parents Colin Abbey and Janet Sutton emigrated to Canada in 1960. their home in England was Kingston-upon-Hull in East Yorkshire. My fathers side of the family were deep sea fishermen for about three generations. My Grandfather was Harry John Waite Abbey b. Hull, Sept 7 1902/d. Hull Jan 13 1983 and Grandmother was Eileen Edith Abbey (NEE Leeson)b. Hull, Jun. 9 1906/ d. Whitby May 16 2000. My great Grandfather was Harry Abbey b. Hull 1879/ d. Hull Sept 28 1959, and great grandmother was Lillian Waite Alcock b. at Wick 1883/ d. Hull Jun. 7 1950. My great great Grandfather was John Abbey b. Fulford April 3 1853/d.?, Was Married to Martha Bradstreet b.Doncaster 24/3/1852. My ggg grandfather was William Abbey b. Kirk Hammerton ?/12/1827 and was married to Hannah Tate b. 1828 at Escrick. Williams Father was Thomas Abbey b. 22/10/1805 at Barmby Moor,Married 18/4/1826 in Thorganby to Mary Lee b.1802. Thomas' parents were William Abbey and Hannah Foster, William d. 20/6/1868.
