James Gilleland was born in 1745 and he died in 1810.
James married Susannah Young who was born in 1750 and died in 1842.
James and Susannah's son William was born in 1771 in Pennsylvania.
He died in 1800 in Davidson Co. Tennesse.
He married Nancy Johnson (see first entry)
Their son Daniel Gilleland was born in Virginia on June 9, 1795.
Afterwards, they moved to Tenn. Their children are:

Nancy married Thomas Williams 9/1802. They had four more children.
Daniel Gilleland 6-9-1795 to 1-12-1873 married Precilla Boatwright
2-1-1819 in Jonesborough, Miller, Arkansas. Precilla was born 6-20-1803
in Illinois Territory. Her parents were Thomas Boatwright and Amy (?).
Precilla died 5-9-1873. She and Daniel are buried in the Gilleland
Cemetary in Milam Co. Texas. It is on private land, but about once a
year there is a pilgrimage by the descendant to the gravesite. Their
children are:

MARY Gilleland (1827) in Ark. Died in 1852. Married Stephen T. Slater
Mary Gilleland (1827-1852) married Stephen Thomas Slater in November of
1845 in Montgomery Co. Texas. Stephen Slater was born in
Tennesse(according to census) 1-31-1815. His mother could have possible
been Lavina from Kentucky. I have no further documented information. He
died 11-21-1884 and is buried in the Sharp Cemetary. Mary, according to the Gilliland historian is buried in an unmarked grave in the Gilliland family cemetery on their farm. No wife is buried with Slater, but my mother told me that he had been married a lot of times. He and Mary had four children:
