I have recently renewed my searchs for these surnames:

Abernathy/Abernethy
Clinkscales
Hayne
Justice
-- and others too numerous to mention in a short introduction paragraph.

Both sides, my paternal and maternal ancestors migrated from the VA colony before the Revolutionary war (Justice and Clinkscales). Others I have had trouble finding valid information about (Abernethy/Abetrnathy), and along the way I have been able to contact several cousins via email, that I met through family/surname message boards.

As my search broadens to include 16, then 32 names, I will have to become more organized in my documentation. Web sites such as this one allows for quick updates, and easy organizational changes as more data is added.

If my data helps you, please let me, know. I have had success, but there have been hurdles as well.

  My mother's branch of our family. Have traced this lineage back to the 1600s, (England/Ireland). Research says the Clinkscales name if of German descendancy.

  My mother's (father's) branch of our family. Most close relative of this branch still reside in Alabama; several in Texas, and others in various locations: Alaska, Iowa, Florida, etc.

  PICKARD branch of our family. Not much I have on this branch, yet. Will continue to search.
