My research began as a search for my mom's biological family, having been given up for adoption shortly after birth. After 9 yrs of research, ph. calls, letters, internet queries, brick walls, etc!, my search has turned up 3 uncles, 1 aunt, 1 great aunt, and several cousins, still living. Sadly, my mom passed away 3/5/85, and did not learn that she had siblings. Oh, how happy that would have made her, having been raised as an only child in her adoptive home. Several months ago, I made contact with my "new" relatives and have visited them twice. I could not have felt more "at home" than they made me feel. I think we were able to help each other with questions we all had, surrounding the birth of mom and the years after. The only regret that we all have is that they couldn't meet mom and I couldn't meet my grandma, who passed away 1 yr after mom did. But, as Angels in Heaven Above, I believe they led me on this journey to find my blood kin, and they are now smiling down on us as we begin to know each other...... My research has gone 4 generations back on the maternal side of the family: My mom-born Cecelia Margaret Moxley, my bgrandma-Bessie Lee (Moxley) Arant, my b-g-grandma, Maggie O.(Hall) Moxley, my b-g-g-grandma Malissa (Griffin) Hall My next venture is to learn about the Arant family, whom we believe to also be my mom's b-dad. God bless you all, Diane
