ABRAMS & BATES "Once Upon A Family"

Updated July 12, 2009

About Our Family Research

Long before the horseless carriage my family made their way through North America, some already inhabited it. So we might be related! Been turning the stones of time in search of the Abrams's from areas of Greene County & the Bates's of Schoharie, both of New York. There are so many others; Gallts' from Cherry Valley to the Larraways' & Crosbys' of Berne & the Hunts' as well as Elijah Crippen might have known John Reed of Athens, as for Peter Hagadorn, well he would have never meet the Starks' or Gandias'. The names goes on and the tales with them. Many are found in the aforementioned counties between the early 1600's to date. While others are from lands far away; Sweden, Porto Rico. As for myself, I live in NYC, The Big Apple, so populated it's more like a Big Bushel of Apples. My dad was born on the family farm in Oak Hill, NY as was his dad, and his dad the next town over, Greeneville. Once a month we would visit his aunt, Hattie Gallt, she's my grandfathers sister. We would take rides to the old Abrams farm located just above Henry Niles place in Oak Hill. Other times just riding through the mountains seeing this and touching that. Today I do the same, walking in footsteps while making new ones, and listening to voices in the wind of the yesteryears. We could be related!
