I spent many days searching for my Father, Edgar Frances Adorante,b.1918. I found him, but by then it was to late to tell him just how much he was thought of. My Mother is a beautiful, gentle, well educated women. She is the one that got me starting in Genealogy. My search began at Ellis Island Records,for my grandfather Americo Adorante b.1890 from Italy. At ellisislandrecords.com I was able to search through the ships records to find my ggreatfather Francesco Adorante b.1856. I am hoping to find my grandmothers on my fathers side. Everyday I find something new. I had heard that one of my fathers brothers had been killed in a terrible ship bombing during the WWII. I found his name (Donte Adorante) and his story at ussindianapolis.org. There are many wonderful sites online, some are there, not just to make money but truely help us find our families.
Genealogy.com is a good place to have all your family names and dates in one place. And then look and search some more.
