The Africa surname is also related to the Macasaet. Both were from the province of Batangas, in the Philippines. They were thought to be of Portugese or Dutch descendants even Italians.
Some say that Africa was really spelled 'Afrikka' or 'Afrika'.
Now, most of the family members known take the "Africa" as is.
It has been very difficult to find relatives, since all have been migrating all over the world. Hopefully, a big gathering of all the Africa's may happen someday.
