My name is Scott Adam Aicher the son of Marvin Adam Aicher, Jr. and the older brother of Todd Stephen Aicher. I have very little information about my Aicher family roots and would love to learn more. Here is a brief of what I know. My grandfather, Marvin Adam Aicher, SR. was born on 12/1/1917, the final son of 3 (brothers Francis W. Aicher born 1/12/1911 and Vernon L. Aicher born 9/29/1914) to Francis Leo Aicher and Lydia I. Aicher (maiden name unknown). My grandfather was born in Canada (I believe Alberta) as were his two brothers. My great grandfather Francis was born in Iowa sometime in 1882, both parents were from Germany but names unknown. I have been told that when Francis Aicher's parents came to the US the name was changed from Eicher to today's spelling of Aicher. The majority of the Aicher family remained in Iowa, however my great grandfather moved to Canada, went back to Iowa, back to Canada and finally to the Detroit area in the late 20's early 30's. I understand that in Canada my great grandfather opened up a Hotel, Bar and Jewelry store that may still exist to this day. During prohibition, he ran booze to the US via Canada. I have no idea of the family I may have in Canada, Iowa or throughout the world and would love to get more info, so if Francis Aicher or sons sound like a match please let me know. Thank you.
