Afetr studying the history of the unification of Italy, I was drawn to the history of Bronte, Sicily, the original home of many relatives. I am now trying to draw a family tree of my paternal great-grandfather, Francesco Luigi Aidala. I beleive I have found records from Ellis Island that indicate he came to the US in 1904 and that he was born in 1866. I have also found pages on the Bronte city website that indicates a Francesco Aidala was one of the victims on the 1860 uprising in Bronte. I am assuming this is my great-great-grandfather. Another website indicates that a bricklayer named Rosario Aidala began the uprising. I have never met a relative with the name Rosario.
Looking for help and inputs before all the ones that know this history are gone.
