My father was an Ainsworth & my Mother was a Prichard. I have the Ainsworths coming from Hanover township, Lancaster Co.,PA to Van Wert Co., Ohio. My oldest ancester I have is Samuel Ainsworth b:1716 d:1783. Married Margeret Young in 1738. Margerets parents were John Young & Margeret Stewart of Hanover PA. Samuel is placed in Hanover twp, Lancaster Co.,Pa about 1740 by the PA Historical Sosciety. It was noted that his son was captured by the Indians and he had fled his farm. The DAR has him listed as a private in the Hanover Company, Lancaster Co. militia.
Since I last updated this page I have made a lot of contacts & found more info, mostly on the Ainsworths. I have met a distant cousin who is related thru John Harvey Ainsworth, my grandfathers, first wife Lucinda E. Myers. I also met another distant cousin who is related thru John Harvey's second wife, Phoebe Isabelle Case, my grandmother. John & Lucinda had a daughter Elnora. Lucinda died just ten days after Elnora was born. Elnora was raised by Lucindas family. John & Phoebe had nine children. He was 56 & Phoebe was 44 when thier youngest, John Fredrick was born. John Harvey was a lumber jack & farmer. They lived on a farm in Willshire township, Van Wert Co. OH. John raised Belgian draft horses & served as the local vet when it came to taking care of sick animals. Our oldest known relative Samuel of Hanover PA was born in England or Scotland.
On the Prichard side I am only back to my Great Grandfather, Enos Nelson Prichard. b:1876 d:1935. Married Nettie Mae Overholt b:1877 d:1936. They lived in Van Wert Co., OH, and had 11 children: Ada Doyt,Belle,Ralph,Doris,Lucy,Hugh,Mary,Charlie,Mildred,Ethel, and Vera L. Ada Doyt was my Grandfather.I will share any info I have and would appreciate recieving any.
