Jonas settled in Newark, Licking County, ohio and married Christina Bierly. His youngest son Andrew Louis Maurath moved to Pennsylavania and worked on the railroad between Carnegie and Erie Pennsylavania.

Andrew L. Maurath married a Julia Eleanor King and had three children, Mary Margaret,Gerald, and Julia Kathleen. They settled in Carnegie, PA which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA.
