James Stewart is 97 years old - as of 2001 - and much of my research has been directly because of his information about his family as well as my Mother's family. Dad was born in N. Ireland, County Londonderry, the town lands of Bovevah. My Mother was born on Nov 22, 1901 in Brooklyn, NY - Queens county. My parents met at the former BBI (Baptist Bible Institute) in New Orleans where they were both in school. Dad earned his Doctorate of Philosophy and Mom earned her Masters of Christian Education there. Dad had to leave the country upon completion of his education as he was on a student visa (He had not intended to stay in the US until he met Mom!) He spent a year in Cuba teaching at a christian school in the mountains of Cuba after which he returned to the USA as an immigrant. The interesting part of this return was, since the immigrant quota for Britian was filled, he returned as a Haitian! My Mother's name was Ruth Isabelle Bjerregaard. She was the daughter of two immigrants - her dad was from Denmark - August P Bjerregaard and her mother was from N. Ireland - Emily I McCormick. Both came to New York as small children.
