The Albrecht -McElgunn Families

One of the ancient Celtic tribes is called the BOHIE (later called the Bohemians). Another tribe (perhaps two) traveled to the British Isles, and the reminant of these are found in Ireland. It is from these that I and my sister (Marie Ann) have our genesis. The Czech-Bohemian ALBRECHTs came from Zirovnice. It is rumored that they were a crested family (but I have not found any evidence of this), although I did discover in a visit in 2004 that the castle in Zirovince has a section devoted to my grandfather's family's trade: PEARL BUTTON MAKING. The Irish McELGUNNs come from near Beltubet, Co. Cavan Ireland. I fell into genealogy research about 1994, but I had been predisposed many years earlier. Sometime after 1962, my father's sister Mary (Mae) Veprovsky told me: "Gerald, you really should find out about our family."; to which I replied, "But your sons are older and know a lot more about who is who." And she said: "You are your father's son! And Jerry was the oldest boy." And so the quest began, and continues today.
