Born 12/02/1878 Mother and Father Unknown but had 2 brothers living at his death. Ed Meeks of Atlanta, GA : G.G. Meeks of Atlanta, GA : sisters listed as Mres. Lizzie Crouch of Athens, GA : Mrs. Lucy Belue of Alto. GA. : Mrs. Earnest Holcomb of Miami, Fl. Married to Linia Lou Smallwood of Hall County, GA on June 01, 1902. Born 04/02/1887 and died 01/27/1964. Linia's father John Smallwood and mother Louisa Humphries Smallwood. Only one sister listed at her death India Woodall of Claremont, GA William and Linia had 12 children all of which were born in Hall County, GA between 1903 and 1924. They all later moved to Gastonia, NC and setteled in the Arlington Mill Village. The address at William's death is listed as 46 Maxton Street Gastonia, NC. William and his children all worked at one time or another at the Arlington mill and William was listed as a sweeper. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church West 2nd Ave. in Gastonia, NC and was a Sunday school teacher there for many years. According to several of the children William Huey Meeks was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. I have not been able to confirm this.
