I am researching my Simm Familly which originated in Wooler, Northumberland and later moved to Glasgow, Scotland.
The furthest back we have got to is c.1700 in Northumberland the line is from Robert Simm married to Jane Temple. Their son Peter Simm married Elizabeth Bell(prawl, pratt. Their son Robert Simm married Ann Hendersen. Their son Peter Simm born in Wooler married Mary McDonald in Glasgow and died there.
All records in Wooler are there except marriage of Robert Simm and Ann Hendersen, also can find no death for these two either in Wooler or Scotland. They had 2 more children after those registered in Wooler, one, Robert, married in Glasgow the other, Margaret, married in Edinburgh. Cannot find births of either. Robert born about 1829, Margaret about 1836. Keen to fill in this gap in the research. Possibly non-conformists.
Also family connected to Meikles and Barr in Glasgow and Ayrshire Scotland.
We have a lot of detailed info on the Simms and willing to share - some of this is not connected to my line but might be of use to someone else.
