We have fairly detailed family trees going back to the immigrating English who settled in VA and fought in the Amer. Revolution on Florence's side to a German "Caspar" who sailed to America with his first wife (died in childbirth) and finally settled to have 16 children with his 5th wife Rebecca. All 4 previous wives died in childbirth or of disease in the first year of marriage. So, he had 5 wives in 7 years. Rebecca lived to be 83 and mothered the 16 children. WOW - what a way to have lived!

The Amos' came down to northern WV from Pennsylvannia and were largely of German descent. The Carden's came to southern WV and then to northern WV via southern and western VA.

My sister and I are the last remaining direct descendents in the Carden line.

  He loved to fish so much that his friends nicknamed him "Fish" in high school. "Fish" he remained to many of them through his 60's.

  Landon was born the day before his Momma's birthday. They will probably celebrate together for a long time.
