My mother's family is originally from Mindanoa, Philippines, my father is from Pangasinan, Philippines. I don't know too much about my Filipino background so the spellings could be incorrect. My Uncle Bob, brother to my grandfather, was the first of our family to come to the United States. He built his life in San Francisco. Next came my Uncle Noli, then my father, my Uncle Bert, grandparents from my father's side and then all of the children from my mother's side. Some of my father and mother's relatives still live in the Philippines.
Our family always gets together during holidays or birthdays as Filipino families traditionally do. My Uncle Bob died when I was 12 years old and is burried in San Francisco. Tatang died during his last months in the Philippines this year. We miss them both.
We have family in Hawaii but my father doesn't know who they are and where they are. We had wonderful family in San Francisco but have lost contact with them. Hopefully they'll be found with his service.
