Updated July 24, 2005

About Our Family Research

First, Thank You to all my family that has put up with countless questions from me in gathering all this information into one family. This is an ongoing project that has lasted so far 12 years.
This family file contains the Anderson from Northeastern TN, Collins from Wise, VA, Brewster from NC to GA, Jacks and Jackson from GA, and the two lines of the Byrds.
Please be aware that my information has been collected first hand when possible and documented where possible. Thanks to my daughter, granddaughter and cousins, especially Robert Browning for all the help and sharing of information.
Please use this cautiously as I have checked what I can, but mistakes do happen. If you can connect with any of my family please contact me. Sharing is a labor of love and I love to share information with others. All the information is free to copy to a personal computer, but please don't steal from me for profit. All information is mine to share with permission.
Please contact with me if I can help you with any additional information, that I may have and please let me know if I have made a mistake. We're only human.
Thanks for your interest in our family nest and happy family hunting!

  • Our grandmother Willie Louise Bowers Byrd (268 KB)
This is a photo of Nanny during a birthday party held in her and my sister's honor, since they are one day apart. It was a wonderful cookout at Mother's house with lots of presents for both. I believe Nanny was 80 here.
  • James Monroe Byrd (38 KB)
Papaw Byrd with one of his T- Models
  • Round Mountain Baptist Church, Hays, Wilkes Co,NC (93 KB)
All alot of Byrd Headstones are found at this church cemetery, such as William Peyton and Mary E. Byrd and many others. It is located in Hayes, Wilkes County, NC. My mother was kind enough to venture out to find this cemetery and along with my step father took the pics.

This is the headstone for WIlliam Emmit Byrd, father of Mary Elizabeth Byrd and wife of William Peyton Byrd. Photo taken at Round Mountain Baptist Church, Hays, Wilkes Co., NC by my mother, Mary Jane Byrd Shah and my step father.
  • Our Grandparents, Charles and Linda Anderson (79 KB)
Thanks to my cousin, Linda for this photo file. This is the only photo that I have of grandparents, Charles Clint Anderson and Linda Jane Collins Anderson. I'm not sure where this was taken, but probably somewhere in NE Tennessee, where they lived much of their lives.
  • Great Aunt Talithia Cumi or "Kitty "Fowler Deaton (79 KB)
This is an old photo of my great aunt"Kitty" Deaton. She loved to dance and hear that she was a flapper at one time. Her husband, Red was in the Navy and she kept many momentos of his travels untl her death. She is sadly missed.
