One part of our family began with William Byrd in VA and has ended with a bigger flock of Byrd(s). William Peyton Byrd married Mary Elizabeth Byrd to join two lines of Byrds in Wilkes County, NC.
The Anderson family in NE TN joined with Collins of Wise VA (probably Melougeon) and lived in Kingsport, TN,High Point, NC and surrounding areas. There were some Brewsters in northern GA joining with Jackson, Jacks and Brookshire.
There is Marley, Fowler, Bowers, Hill, Leeper, Bothelo, Owens, and other assorted family names. Most of the family is in the south with a few in PA and VA. There may be some native Indian there, but I haven't found it yet even though we look the part. Please feel free to download these files to your personal computer, but please don't steal to profit from our work. We like to share, but remember, our information has been from interviews from family members and a little documentation. Many thanks to my many cousins for their help, information and pictures. Let me know if you find mistakes so I can correct them.
I still need to find grandfather William Ernest Bowers from Altoona, Pa. That's about all we know of him. Also, George Wesley Brewster born in NC about 1840, lived in Towns County, GA, but died shortly at the end of the Civil War, in which he served. John Kimsey (Harley) Jackson is also a mystery. He was supposed to have lived in Towns COunty, GA and owner of the store and mill there. The family moved to the mountains of NC after he lost all the family money. The story is that he ran a moonshine still and was arrested for it. This is one of the stories that my Grandmother Byrd told me. Please contact me if you can connect your family with ours. We're great people with big hearts.
