This information has been collected from family interviews, Grandparents and anyone else that can remember anything about the family. This is mostly first hand information that I've gotten from asking all my relatives their full names, birthdates, places of birth and their childrens information. I've linked the Collins from information I've found on the web.
We thought Creed Collins from the southwest, but he was from Virginia. Looks like he and his family were Melungeon. There is an interesting site Brenda Nichols@tripod.com that gives alot of information about these free persons of color and their settlement in Sneedville, TN. Creed and his family were from Wise County, VA.
I don't know where the Anderson side is from, though I'm inclined to believe they are of Scot/Indian decendents. The Byrds are from North Wilksboro, NC, but originally from VA. Can Sadie Brewster is from Towns County,GA and her ancesters. If you find any other information, please help me on this quest.
