My father was George D. Works. My mother was Cora Belle( Mott ) Works. My grandfather was James W. Works married at the age of 24 to Nora (Shants ) Works she was 16. they were married in Ill. Nov. of 1892. His father is listed as Preston Works and his mother is listed as Nancy Jollet. Nora Shants father is listed as John Shorts and her mother is listed as Polly Kern of Kenney Ill.This was found in a register of marrage page184 Clinton Ill.Most of other info I have I'm not sure of. My father was born Nov. 29, 1898 in Kenny Ill. James his father was born Nov.15, 1868 in Kentucky. My father had 4 sisters, Mary works, Spencer-Lucille Works,Whitehead-Ruth Works, Anderson-and Ida Works, Gandy, Numes. My father and mother had 10 childern, one died as a baby. We have a reunion on the 4th of July every year at my sisters house in Benton, Ill.
