This is family research and account mainly dating from 1853 when James Anderson(1779-1873) took his family; George (27)(who died at sea) his wife Jane and their infant son James, James Tosh (great grandfather0 and his wife Anne, John (22), William(20), Mary Stewart(18), Robert (16),Agnes Nancy(14) and Andrew Word(11). The entire family left Scotland on 28th October 1852 and arrived in Sandridge (now Port Melbourne) on 7th March 1853. This was 19 weeks without landfall. the sailing ship was 'Malabar'.
