McNany's & Akin's - Hopper's & Cooper's

Updated July 29, 2002

About Our Family Research

I have family records from several generations ie: letters, photos, death certificates, obituaries, marriage licenses and birth certificates. I have been reading through them all and scanning the important "finds" and comparing notes with The World Family Tree and other relatives.

There is a McNany Family Reunion in Emlenton, PA every 2nd weekend in August, that I have yet to attend. I have been in contact with several new cousins that I have found via the internet and have been sharing information back and forth with them.

The Akin Family home is located in Fresno and still exists. The Akin's are buried in Easton Cemetery, just north of Fresno. They are from Titusville and Oil City, PA.

I have found the resting place of many of the Hopper's in Yountville,CA along with Charles Hopper's home. Charles Hopper is the son of Thomas Hopper. He came to CA as the scout of the Bartelson Bidwell wagon train in 1841. He returned 5 years later with his wife and children. He is from NC.

The Cooper Family home is located in Yolo County and is also still standing. It is still in the family. The Cooper's came from KY and MO.(Cooper's fort)
