GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN WELCOME! My family tree includes the Guiter,Danner, Anderson, Morse Burkhalter, Keller, Barnes, Harris,Tuttle,Schermerhorn GUITER/GEITER For some unknown reason Adam's last name was spelled GUITER but the rest of his family used GEITER spelling. Adam's parents were Adam Geiter and Catherine SEIFERT.Adam Guiter, was born 1842 in Germany. He came to IL, Stephenson County, and enlisted CIVIL WAR in the 46th Illinois Infantry, company B in 1861 at Freeport, IL. He served his first tour of duty until 1863 and then reenlisted as a veteran. He was mustered out Jan. 20, 1866, in Baton Rouge, LA. After his DISTINGUISHED SERVICE, he met and married Mary C. KELLER "Kate" on July 4th, 1867 in Mason County, Illinois. Her father was John Peter Keller, mother Sarah ZETTLE.from Center Co., PA. Adam and Kate lived in Vermont, Illinois, FULTON COUNTY the rest of their life, which is where my Grandfather, my mothers father, Clarence David Guiter was born 1881, along with siblings Floyd, Sarah, Mary Belle, and Clara. Adam died in 1892 at which time Mary C. received the military pension of $12 a month for her and children, Floyd and Clarence, who were still at home. The letters I have stated they had 10 acres of land to support themselves, but could not be sold until the children were of age. Clarence GUITER, married Minnie Mae DANNER. Minnie's parents were Eli Danner and Emeline Stremmel from Astoria, Il. Emeline Stremmel died young and Eli Danner remarried an Ida Schisler abt.1900. Most of the Danner's from Astoria were related to Henry Danner born in Germany. ANDERSON: My father, Clarence W. Anderson, was born at home near Middlegrove, IL Nov. 20, 1907. Clarence was one of 10+ children of GEORGE PHILLIP ANDERSON and Florence Hattie MORSE. They were farmers around Middlegrove, Il.Clarence W. Anderson, worked in the Coal Mines by Middlegrove, Il 1930's. Later years he worked for Admirals refrigerator factory in Galesburg, Il. He married Evelyn Mary GUTIER and had six children. Grandfather, George P. ANDERSON, parents were Crawford Anderson Jr. b. 1850 and Clara B. BURKHALTER, Maquon twnship. The Burkhalters family line include Peter Burkhalter SR. and Peter Burkhalter Jr. they are listed in the D.A.R roles and the PA history books. Crawford Anderson SR. parents were James Anderson 1762-1821 and Nancy Agnes DEAN b.1770 in Augusta, VA and died abt.1817. This left the children, Crawford age13, Sarah age 10, Lewis age 11, and Nancy age 16 orphans and guardianship was given to Wm. Kenton, Champaign County, Ohio court records. Crawford SR. had a brother Lewis Anderson, b.1840 and a sister Rebecca Ann, b. 1832. Rebecca married John W. Duvall from Jasper county, Indiana. Rebecca and John ran a Stage Coach livery stable business in Renessaler, Indiana, see Jasper County History bio. Crawford Jr. age 10 and his mother Delilah lived with them in 1860 census(Do not know when they came to IL) Crawford Sr. was b. 1808 in VA. He married Delilah McDugal (or spelled McDoughal) in Urbana,Champaign County,OH May 5,1829. James Anderson's mother was Elizabeth T. DAVIS. His father was John Anderson b. abt. 1730 in ULster, IRELAND or PA., son of James Anderson born in 1714 in Ulster, IRELAND. MORSE: (Anthony Morse line) My Grandmother, Florence Hattie Morse-Anderson, parents were Ansil H. Morse and Martha Lodema Schermerhorn Morse from NY. Martha's father Cornelius Schermerhorn died early in life, and she was sent to live with Curtis and Lodema Schermerhorn Barker in Middlegrove, IL. Her mother Sarah Haywood married later to James Dooley Carthage NY.
