She married Lawrence Edward Burger on 30 Nov 1940 in Loup City, Nebraska, son of Louis R. Burger and Allie Bell Gage.

Ruth graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1939. She worked as a registered nurse much of the time, retiring in 1983.
Ruth was living at Tiffany Square Care Center, Grand Island, Nebraska at time of death.

OBITUARY
Ruth Burger, 87, of Grand Island died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Tiffany Square Care Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Lambert will
officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burger was born June 28, 1918, at Cushing to Frederick and Mary (Berst) Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Burger, on Feb. 19, 1952, in the Korean War.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas and Mary Cay Burger of Englewood, Colo, a daughter, Peggy Warner of Grand Island; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Verna Anderson of San Diego and Irene and Dallas Miller of Lincoln; and a brother, Allen Anderson of Emerald.
Additional survivors include three sisters-in-law, Doris Anderson
and LaVonne Anderson, both of St. Paul, and Vera Burger of
Roach, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Scott Burger of Fort Collins,
Cob., Jeff Burger of Englewood, Cob., and Lisa Burger of Oakland, Calif.

Mrs. Burger received her education in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School in 1935. She attended Kearney State College and the St. Francis School of Nursing, graduating in 1939. She married Lawrence E. Burger on Nov. 30, 1940, at Loup City Nebraska.
Mrs. Burger was employed at the St. Francis Hospital. In 1971, she began working as a nurse at the Nebraska Veterans Home. She retired in 1983.
Mrs. Burger was active as a Brownie leader with the Girl Scouts, and also served as a volunteer for Hospice. She enjoyed gardening, doing needlework and crafts.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three
brothers, Clayton, Carl and Ernest Anderson.
Memorials are suggested to the church, the Grand Generation
Center or to the donor’s choice.
