This is the information gathered so far. Please help me fill in the blanks! We'd like to find all of our ohana still living so we can have a family reunion. But we're also interested in the "roots" in the Philippines too.
I found this information about the Aquino family: "The AQUINOs of Tarlac (and Pampanga), the AQUINOs of Paoay (Ilocos Norte) and the AQUINOs of Tondo, Manila, seem to be the original hometowns of most of the AQUINOs found throughout the Philippines...the “3 brother’s legend” persists where each brother separated to found their own branch." Tarlac was apparently part of Pampanga at one time, and there were Chinese there, which is why Vicente was part Chinese. There might have been another family name at one time, a native Filipino one, which existed prior to the Spanish arrivals.
