John W. Evans Family of Fox Hill Hampton VA

Updated December 27, 2002

About Our Family Research

John W. Evans was a commercial Fisherman on the Chesapeake Bay of Virginia. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more continue to live and work in this area of Virginia known as Fox Hill. Fox Hill first appeared in records about 1625 Captain John Smith and Captain Christopher Newport explored this area. To day, Fox Hill is an area in the the City of Hampton, Virginia. It is unique because it is a peninsula of land on a peninsula of land that made it ideal for fish camps and fisherman. Alot has changed over the years and the John W. Evans family is researching, preserving, and documenting our history. Our once close family is now so large we seldom gather in one group. We are members of our local Historical Society and hope to have family reunions and learn even more about Fox Hill where our family began.
