Leslie F. Scofield was born Nov 2, 1917, to a full Southern French Father and full Irish mother. His mother and father left him with Pearl (Delia) Scofield at a young age. When they came back to get him Pearl wouldn't let him go unless they paid back several years of room and board. They couldn't pay it and a judge left him with Pearl until they could. He was eventually adopted by Pearl Elizabeth Scofield before he was 5 years old. They lived in Golden, Colorado at 755 Kendrick. Pearl later married Walter Ryel. Leslie married Essie Ruth Hayhurst. They were married in Colfax, Co. We are interested in finding out his French name before he was adopted. Leslie was a warren officer in the Army during the 2nd world war. He died May 25, 1958 and was buried at Crown Hill Cemetary in Golden, CO.
